This
holiday season, Recovery One employees chose to support the local organization Faith
Mission of Ohio. This organization serves as a Christian
based environment for homeless men and women on an emergency walk-in basis.
Recovery One employees met many of the needs on the Faith Mission wish list,
including gloves, hats, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, and food. According to
Faith Mission executive director Susan L. Villilo, they are seeing an
unprecedented need for shelter and food right here in our community.

When
the staff at Recovery One heard about the need for teddy bears at the Franklin
County Prosecutor’s Office, they opened their giving hearts without hesitation.
Often, when a person faces problems with the law, he/she arrives at the
downtown office with a child in tow. For a young person, the experience of
watching a parent in trouble is upsetting and frightening. To help ease those
emotions, these children are offered a stuffed teddy bear for comfort,
something to which they can cling during scary times. During the 2011 holiday
season, Recovery One employees made it their mission to collect teddy bears and
stuffed animals of all kinds to donate to "Operation Bear-Hug". The overwhelming
generosity from the staff resulted in a collection of over 150 stuffed
critters.
This fall Recovery One
employees volunteered with a local CPA firm to
help teach children in the classroom about making smart financial decisions.
The program, Fetch!, is designed to teach children financially healthy
habits and is administered by the Ohio Society of CPA's. Recovery One employees
spent their time helping students at a local elementary school.
